Miley Cyrus’s song The Climb has been removed from the list of Grammy nominations.
The 17-year-old’s hit single was featured heavily in her movie Hannah Montana: The Movie and was written by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe.
The track recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written For A Soundtrack but it was then later removed from the list.
The entry with the next highest number of votes was All Is Love by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and that will now receive the nomination.
Sources close to Cyrus say the swap was not a surprise as the song was put in to the category as a mistake.
Cyrus was not personally nominated as the song was not written by her.
Miley wants to shift gear

Prepare to say goodbye to Miley Cyrus as you know her. The Hannah Montana star is planning to leave her teen pop style behind and head in a harder, edgier direction.
“I want this to be my last pop record,” the 17-year-old told the UK’s GMTV of her album The Time of Our Lives.
“I’m working on a record right now, I want this to be my last record for a little while, to be able to take a break and just get all the type[s] of music I really love, my favorite styles and be able to have something edgier,” says the “Party in the USA” singer.
“And not have to worry about people saying, ‘this isn’t want her fans want to listen to yadda yadda’, because at the end of the day in a few years as I grow up so will my fans and I won’t have to maybe focus on that so much, and [make records that are] more the style I’m into.”
Miley reveals her new Tattoo.

From posing topless for Vanity Fair to indulging in a steamy kiss on-screen, Miley Cyrus appears to be desperate to leave the squeaky-clean Hannah Montana behind.
And judging from these latest pictures, her desire to shake off her fictional alter-ego couldn’t be more obvious as she strutted around a Florida hotel yesterday in a teeny bikini while showing off a recently-inked tattoo.
The 17-year-old singer was snapped enjoying a relaxing day with friends at the Fontainebleau Resort on Miami Beach as she lay by the pool having wrapped up her Wonder World world tour the night before.
But it wasn’t the skimpy neon pink two-piece that attracted all the attention, but what appeared to be the words ‘Just Breathe’ tattooed in black ink on her ribcage just under her left breast.
She also appeared to be describing the design to her friend after she was snapped gesturing at it with her hands.
In theory, Miley is not legally allowed to have a tattoo as she is under 18, which is the legal age to be inked in the US.
However, after her brother Trace recently revealed that all the Cyrus family were planning to get matching ones, Miley may have been given permission to get one from her country singer father Billy Ray.
One fan’s blog this morning suggested that she got the tattoo in memory of a nine-year-old girl called Vanessa who passed away from cystic fibrosis in 2007.
Cyrus met Vanessa at a Los Angeles hospital and instantly connected with her, describing her as one of her best friends.
There was no word from Miley’s agent today to confirm whether the tattoo was a permanent or temporary one.
Miley was photographed later that afternoon leaving the resort wearing a Jonas Brothers t-shirt in homage to her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas.
She is currently dating Australian actor and former Neighbours star Liam Hemsworth, 19, who she met while filming the Disney movie The Last Song.
But she dated 17-year-old Jonas, the youngest of the musical sibling trio and believed to be her first love, from June 2006 to December 2007.
Miley Denied at Bar

Although the triple threat singer, dancer, and actress Miley Cyrus has reached the peak of her career at only 17 years of age, the “tween” starlet may be growing up too quickly as TMZ reports that she was seen attempting to get access into a Miami Beach club last Wednesday evening.
When Cyrus, who arrived at Club LIV along with an entire slew of friends, attempted to walk inside the venue, she was denied by the bouncers due to her well know underage status according to TMZ.
At the age of only 17 Miley, who has been on tour throughout 2009, still has a good four years until she will be able to legally party it up at any hotspot that serves alcohol.
And although her representative denies all claims that Miley tried to get inside at all, TMZ spoke with multiple sources at LIV who thought otherwise and affirmed that the under-21 Hannah Montana actress did indeed approach the door.
Cyrus, who has also been recently spotted with a possible new tattoo, is taking some time off to relax in Miami after being on the road.
Miley Cyrus Pole Dancing?

2009

Uh oh! It doesn’t seem like any news outlets have picked up on this yet, but if they do Miley Cyrus might be in for some more controversy.
Remember back at the Teen Choice Awards when Miley stood on top of an ice cream cart while holding onto a pole in the center of it? Miley received a lot of flack for that performance from both concerned parents and disappointed fans. Many believed that Miley was dancing a bit too scandalously for her age.
Even though Miley said she didn’t mean to upset anyone, and her father Billy Ray Cyrus defended her dance moves, stating that it was just for the performance, it seems that Miley may be at it again from the picture above taken at one of her recent Wonder World Concert shows.
Do you have a problem with Miley’s props, outfit or dance moves, or do you support any decision Miley makes in her career?
Miley: I’m the coolest!

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus says she doesn’t get flustered when meeting other celebrities. In fact, the Hannah Montana starlet believes she’s “pretty much the coolest person ever.”
In a recent interview with “The Morning Mash Up”, Cyrus explained how she doesn’t get star-struck. She said, “No, I’m pretty cool. I’m pretty much the coolest person ever.”
Miley added, “There are not many things about me that are like a normal teenage girl. But the one normal teenage girl thing is that I think Zac Efron is the hottest person in the world. I really, really like him. And it’s weird… it’s weird because he’s my friend.”
Miley also recently revealed another interesting aspect about herself. She doesn’t know any Jay-Z songs despite the lyrics of her hit single “Party in the USA”.
Miley: Never Heard Jay-Z song

In her hit single “Party in the U.S.A.,” Miley Cyrus famously claims that a Jay-Z song saved her life (or at least made her taxi ride from LAX bearable). But which one of Hov’s hits is she singing about?
Turns out, she doesn’t know. Because she’s never actually heard a Jay-Z song.
That’s what we learned in a new interview posted on Cyrus’ MileyWorld Web site, in which the singer — who, it should be noted, is dressed like Pocahontas (it was backstage, before her Halloween concert in Louisville, Kentucky) — was asked by a reporter which Jay-Z tune inspired the line in “Party.” And, well, let’s just say she answered his question honestly.
“I don’t know, I didn’t write the song, so I have no idea,” she said. “Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn’t write it [and] I didn’t expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best.”
She’s correct, she didn’t write “Party” (a songwriting team of Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly and Jessica Cornish did), but surely — as the rather dumbfounded reporter asked in his follow-up — she can agree with the song’s sentiment. She’s got to be a Jay-Z fan, right?
“I’ve never heard a Jay-Z song. I don’t listen to pop music,” Cyrus answered. “['Party in the U.S.A.'] is not even my style of music. I’m really blessed for it to have done as well as it has. Totally blessed. God has definitely put me in an amazing position with amazing people.”
Undoubtedly reeling from the magnitude of that claim, the reporter decided to shift gears, jokingly asking Cyrus if she has any plans to cover her father’s massive 1992 hit “Achy Breaky Heart.” But Miley wasn’t ready to let the Jay-Z thing drop.
“No, no thank you,” she said. “That’s like covering a Jay-Z song. That’s not going to happen.”
Miley NOT sad about Twitter Departure

We know that Miley Cyrus is SO over Twitter. She’s told us countless times over the past two weeks.
But does she miss it? Even just a little bit? The 16-year-old, who shut down her Twitter account on October 8, insists that she doesn’t!
She told 104.7 FM’s Johnjay and Rich Show in Arizona on Tuesday,
“I really haven’t missed it. I thought I was going to miss it a lot more than I do, but I haven’t even really looked at other people’s, which is really weird. I don’t really miss it. It’s kind of odd.”
Not only was she sick of the haters on the social networking site, she was also losing sleep!
“It was 3:30 or 4 in the morning. I couldn’t sleep. [I thought], ‘Maybe I could sleep if I wasn’t so friggin’ busy Twittering about not being able to sleep.”
Billy Ray Cyrus pleads with daughter Miley Cyrus to re-open her deleted Twitter account

Miley Cyrus’ fans aren’t happy that the pop phenom closed her Twitter account Thursday. Especially one particular admirer, who just happens to be related to her.
“Miley. You are a light in a world of darkness. You were born ‘Destiny Hope Cyrus’ for a reason,” her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, tweeted Thursday night. “You can’t leave everyone now. We r countin on u.”
The younger Cyrus, 16, signed off from her account on the popular social networking site with the parting words, “FYI Liam doesn’t have a Twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason.” The Liam in question would be Liam Hemsworth, her “Last Song” movie co-star and rumored boyfriend.
Whatever the “good reason” may be, Billy Ray doesn’t seem to agree.
“I understand ‘it is true one bad apple spoils the bunch,’” papa Cyrus continued. “But listen to the words of your songs ‘Stand… for what ya believe in’…Remember?”
Soon after that he wrote, “Words can hurt worse than bullets. True. All the more reason to take this tool and tweet ‘I’m comin to Chicago and askin kids to stop killin kids.’”
It’s anyone’s guess whether Miley’s other parent shares her dad’s strong feelings about the power of Twitter: Billy Ray’s wife, Tish Cyrus, also quit the site.
But at least one other celeb was feeling the loss of Miley’s ramblings Friday. Tweeted singer John Mayer, “I can’t help but find myself asking the question ‘What would Miley have tweeted about this?’”
Miley Quits Twitter

It was the place where she wrote about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, sadness and her love of “rainbows, John Lennon, and Franklin, Tennessee.” But now it’s gone!
On Wednesday, Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account, a frequently updated and refreshingly frank portal into her daily life that was followed by some 2 million people. Did she do it for love?
In her last Tweet, Cyrus wrote that her reported boyfriend (and co-star in the upcoming film “The Last Song”) Liam Hemsworth didn’t have a Twitter account, and was encouraging her to get rid of hers. “FYI Liam doesn’t have a twttr & he wants ME 2 delete mine w/ gd reason” were her exact words, and shortly thereafter, she pulled the plug. Her @MileyCyrus name disappeared from the site (and so did @MommyTish, the Twitter handle used by her mother). And then, the deluge …
In the aftermath, Cyrus’ fans made their displeasure known, flooding Twitter with pleas for her return with the hashtag “#mileycomeback” (which at press time was still the #1 trending topic on the site) and writing 140-or-less missives like “TWITTER SUCKS WITHOUT MILEY
” and “please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please #mileycomeback.”
Perhaps not coincidentally, in the hours following Cyrus’ disappearance, Twitter also ground to a near-halt.
Of course, now that she’s left the site, dozens of Twit-izens stepped in to fill the void, creating fake Cyrus handles that all claim to be legit.
At press time, a spokesperson for Cyrus had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment on the situation, nor did she verify whether any of the new Cyrus accounts are actually maintained by the singer.
However, Cyrus’ sister Brandi and brother Trace were still tweeting at press time.
